Moodle Single Sign On (SSO)

What has UNSW done?

On 9 July 2020, we are introducing SSO for Moodle, however, we will continue to roll SSO across other applications.

What is SSO?

The UNSW IT Identity team has a roadmap where we will continue to build upon existing capabilities of security technology to protect online security access. 

Benefits of SSO capability consists of: 

Being a time-saving and highly secure user authentication process. SSO lets users access multiple applications with a single account.

SSO will provide a seamless experience to staff and students and enhance UNSW’s digital learning capabilities.

What is the SSO Experience? 

For first time single sign on access:

1. Click on 'Agree and Sign on to Moodle' button

2. Enter your

3. Enter your password


For all subsequent access: 

1.Click on 'Agree and Sign On to Moodle' button

2. Moodle is automatically signed in

Logoff Considerations: 

If you are using a shared computer, all users are expected to logoff their computer at the end of their session.

If you do not log off your computer, then all of your UNSW application sessions will remain active and someone will have the opportunity to access your student account and data.
